Naomi VanEmburgh -- active in her church
Naomi V. VanEmburgh, 81, of Moore Township died Sunday, March
17, in Daytona Beach, Fla. She was employed in civil service
in the Navy Department and the Easton office of Social Security,
the Canister Co., in the business offices of both Orr's and
Pomeroy's Department Stores, and in the office of Betty-Lee
Dress Co. in Easton.
Born August 24, 1920, in Easton, she was the daughter of the
late Harrison and Lillie May Ackerman.
She was a life member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ
in Easton, where she was past president of the Women's Guild,
was a former organist and choir director and served as a deacon
of the Consistory. She also served in the Church Fellowship
group and the Omega Club at the church. She was a 1938 graduate
of Easton High School. She was a past president of several
Parent Teacher Associations, including the Easton Area PTA
council, and served on the state board of the Pennsylvania
PTA. She was a member of the Easton Elks Ladies Auxiliary and
Hickory Hills Senior Citizens. She was a member of Earl Held's
All-Girl Band.
Her husband of 50 years, George G., died in 1993. She is survived
by a daughter a son,
and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the church
in Easton. The Volusia County Cremation Society, 1425 Bellevue
Ave., Daytona Beach, Fla., was in charge of arrangements. |
