Lloyd J. Bennett, 84, of Williams Township, died Sunday, Feb.
2, 2003, in his home.
Born: Aug. 8, 1918, in Easton, a son of the late Gordon and
Minerva Moser Bennett.
Personal: He and his wife, the former, Carmella "Nellie" Schelero,
celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2002.
He was the fourth generation owner of Gordon Bennett and Son
Painting Contractor until his retirement in 1974. He served
in the Army during World War II. He was an artist and enjoyed
oil painting both portraits and landscapes. He also enjoyed
making and flying model airplanes.
Survivors: his wife; a son, a daughter, ; a sister, June
McGilton of Easton; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren,.
A brother, Clair, and five sisters, Winifred Broderick, Rhoda
Miller, Evelyn Benzoni, Marion Diehl and Jessie Crusan, all
died earlier.
Services: Services will be private and at the convenience
of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will
be in Christ Evangelical Congregational Cemetery. The Strunk
Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton, is in charge
of arrangements. |
