Gordon Owen Garis
Garis, Gordon Owen A resident of Rancho Mirage for 27 years, died at his home Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006. He was born May 26, 1917 to Cora and Solon Garis in Bellville, NJ. He attended Steven's Institute of Technology where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was founder and CEO of RayGo Inc. and Deltak Corp., both of Minneapolis, MN. While in Minnesota he was a Boy Scout leader, an Elder at Valley Community Presbyterian Church and served several years as a Councilman of Golden Valley, MN. As a resident of Rancho Mirage, he was a member and former president of Desert Island Golf & Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Cash Garis; and his second wife, Dorothy Richardson. Survivors include his son, Rodger Garis of Tracy's Landing, MD; daughter, Peggy Nieland of Duluth, MN; stepsons, Mike and Dale Richardson of Minneapolis, MN; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM, Desert Island Golf & Country Club, Rancho Mirage. Wiefels & Son Funeral Directors, Palm Springs, CA. |
