Raymond C. Garis, 80, of 1750-C Yorktown Drive, York, formerly
of S. 4th Street, Easton, died Wednesday in Rest Haven Convalescent
Home, York. He was the husband of the late Helen Mae (Slutter)
Garis.
He last worked for the city of Glendora, Calif., as a maintenance
truck driver and a deputy sheriff. Years ago, he was a bus
driver for the former Lehigh Valley Transit Authority.
Born in Waverly, N.Y., he was a son of the late Charles and
Minnie (Prupzman) Garis.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Easton.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors: Daughter, Joan R. Bartholomew, with whom he last
resided in York; stepdaughter, Jacquelyn Dickey of Redondo
Beach, Calif.; four grandsons and a step-grandson.
Services: 1 p.m., Wednesday, Strunk Funeral Home, 602 W. Berwick
St., Easton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
