Stanley S. Garis Sr., 73, of Kunkletown R.3 died Monday in
Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband
of Jessie C. (Shockency) Garis. They were married 49 years
last September.
He was employed by the Ecolaire Corp., West Easton, for 15
years until retiring in 1984. Before that he worked in Easton
for the former Lehigh Valley Railroad.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late General and Rose
(Weaver) Garis.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving
in the Pacific Theater and receiving eight Bronze Stars.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Stanley S. Jr. of Bethlehem and Scott
B. of Wind Gap; daughters, Kathleen R. Weber of Wetumpka, Ala.,
and Nancy J. Rogers of Pensacola, Fla.; brothers, Harry Sr.
of Riegelsville and Howard Sr. of Phillipsburg; seven grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton
streets, Easton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday. |
