Robert Gruver
Robert Gruver, justice of the peace in Stroudsburg for the past 20 years, former prominent business man and one of the best known men in the county of Monroe, died at his home on Monday in the 68th year of his age.

The deceased was born in the township of Mt. Bethel, in Northampton County, son of the late John and Sarah Gruver. He received his early education there and taught school there for a time. About 40 years ago he located in Stoudsburg, where he since made his home and took a prominent part in the activities of the borough. He taught school at Bartonsville, where he was very successful, and for 15 years was engaged in mercantile pursuits, relinquishing that business when his hearing became seriously affected.

Mr. Gruver was a director of the Stroudsburg public schools, in which he took a deep interest.
