Ira F. Illick, Williams Township, Is dead at 84
Former School Official was Letter carrier for 30 Years.
Ira F. Illick, 84, a former member of the Williams Township School Board for 20 years and retired rural mail carrier, died at 6:25 P.M. yesterday in Easton Hospital. He was hospitalized Sept 24. His home was at Easton R.D. 4

Mr. Illick retired from the School Board in December 1955. He served as treasurer of the board for 10 years.

A graduate of Easton Academy, Mr. Illick taught school in Williams Township from 1892 to 1904. He then became a mail carrier in Williams Township, working out of the Easton Post Office. He retired in 1934.
While a student at the academy he played shortstop on the baseball team.

Mr. Illick was director of the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Nazareth from 1944 to 1958.

He was the husband of the former Stella B Steckel. A native of Williams Township, he lived all his life in the house where he was born on April 15, 1875. He was a son of the late John and Anna Unangst Illick.

Mr. Illick was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church; Williams Township; Dallas Lodge 396, F&AM; Easton Chapter 173, Royal Arch Masons, Hugh DePayens Commandery 19, Knights Templar, Tall Cedars of Lebanon 25, all of Easton and the Rural Mail Carriers Association.

Surviving in addition to his widow, are a son, Montford E. Illick, Hellertown, superintendent of Hellertown schools; a brother, Joseph S., Syracuse, NY; four grand-children and seven great-grandchildren. A brother, Thomas and a sister Catharine, died before him.

The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at the Strunk Funeral Home, Easton.
