John Kiefer
John Kiefer, 80, of Easton Stroudsburg R.D. 4 formerly of Raubsville, died Tuesday in Pocono Hospital.
He was employed as a knitter at the former Berlou Mills, Raubsville, retiring in 1969. Before that, he worked for the former Chipman’s Knitting Mills, West Easton, for 32 years.
Born in Raubsville, he was a son of the late Edward and Cora Scott Kiefer.
Mr. Kiefer was a member of Prosperity Lodge 567, F & AM, Riegelsville, and in earlier years was involved in scouting.
His wife the former Kathryn M. VanDoren, died in 1965.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. of Upper Black Eddy R.D. 1; a sister, Jane Leary, Easton and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home. Riegelsville. Interment will be in South Easton Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the Funeral home. |
