Theodore William Kiefer, 51, of Raubsville, who was elected president of the Williams Township School Board on Saturday, died today at 8:30 a.m. in Easton Hospital.
The report of Mr. Kiefer's election was carried in Saturday's Express. He was elected at a meeting held in Raubsville School.
At the time of his death, he had served 18 consecutive years on the Williams Township School board.
He was born in Raubsville, a son of the late Edward and Cora Scott Kiefer, and had spent all his life in the community. He attended the old Riegel Academy, Riegelsville and the former Jones Business College in Easton.
Mr. Kiefer had been employed for the last 15 years as a mechanic for the Metropolitan 'Edison co., Easton. he had worked until three ago.
He was a member of Delaware Lodge 52, F. And A. M., Phillipsburg, and a former member of St. John Evangelical Reformed Church, Riegelsville.
Surviving are his wife, hazel Beers Kiefer; three children, Mrs. Claire Nimmo, of Easton, R.D. 4; John E. Kingsport, Tenn and Theodore W. Jr., at home; one grandson; a brother, John H. Raubsville and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Leary, Easton, and Mrs. Elizabeth Conner, Wilmington, Del.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. form the Struthers funeral home, Riegelsville. The Rev. Roland M. Banes will officiate and burial will be in Raubsville Cemetery. Delaware Lodge will hold services on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the funeral home. |
