Elizabeth M. Murphy -- was a Navy WAVE
Elizabeth May Murphy, 80, of Newark, Del., died Thursday, March
1, in Christiana Hospital in Newark. She was a medical receptionist
for Dr. Robert L. Smith in Newark, retiring in 1981 after 15
years, and before that was an Avon representative for five
years.
Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth W.
and Cora J. Shaffer Kirkpatrick.
She served as a Navy WAVE, as a pharmacist's mate, second
class, during World War II. She was a member of the Order of
Eastern Star,both of Easton and Newark.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, two
sisters, and eight
grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Spicer-Mullikin
Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. Call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday
in n the funeral home. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans
Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Del. |
