Orville D. Knecht, 76, of Washington Street, Wind Gap, died Sunday in Lehigh
Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Stella (Weiss) Knecht.
They would have been married 48 years next month.
He was a custodian for Metropolitan Edison Corp., Forks Township,
for 13 years, retiring in 1982. Before that he was a knitter
for the former Fairtex Knitting Mills, Allentown, for more
than 20 years.
Born in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Floyd and Stella
(Beers) Knecht.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving
in India.
Survivors: Wife; sons, daughter, seven grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Schmidt Home, 202 West St., Wind
Gap. Call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. |
