Chas. A. Laros Passes Away
For Forty-three Years. He Was Connected with the Easton Express

Charles Albert Laros, business manager of the Express, under former ownership and for 43 years connected with this newspaper, died on Sunday evening at 6 o’clock at his home, No. 228 Porter Street, College Hill, after an illness of seven weeks from a complication of ailments. He was 67 years of age on March 10.

Mr. Laros was born in Forks Township and was a so of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Laros. Early in life he learned the carpenter trade and later entered the employ of Horn & Steinmetz contractors of this city. In 1876 he became a collector and route agent for the Express and after serving in that capacity for about fifteen years, he became business manager of the newspaper and when the Express was merged with the Argus in November 1917, he continued in the employ of the paper serving with great efficiency and fidelity until his fatal illness.

Those who worked with Mr. Laros on the Express cannot help but feel a distinct personal lost the death of a man who had become one of the most useful men in conduction the complicated affairs of a busy office. When a man is with a newspaper for 43 years, he grows to be a highly important unit of the business and his familiar face will be missed by many patrons of this office. In these many years of service, Mr. Laros had acquired an abundance of information about the people of the office and had made a large number of friends among Express subscribers and advertisers. All who knew him will attest to his faithfulness in the performance of duty and his worthiness in the different line of work he pursued.

Mr. Laros is survived by his wife, and by two brothers, Alvin Laros of this city and Clinton Laros, of Flint Michigan; also by one sister, Mrs. Van Selean Walter, of this city A son, Franklin H. Laros, died in 1897.

From April 1, 1889 to April 1 1890, Mr. Laros served in Select Council as a member from the Third ward.

Deceased was a member of Grace Reformed Church, College hill and of Lehicton Lodge, No. 244, I.O.O F and Valley Encampment, No. 138, I.O.O.F of this city.
