Found Dead At Quarry
Elmer Marsh, Pen Argyl, Thought Fatally Stricken at Work
Elmer Marsh, about 65, a well-known resident of Pen Argyl, was found dead between 10:30 and 11 o’clock this morning in the compressor plant of the Stephens-Jackson Slate Company at Pen Argyl, where he had been employed for the past 20 years.
When the quarry needed air pressure at 10 o’clock this morning, none was available, and the men could not understand it. After ailing a short time, they call the compressor plant and received no response.
Then thinking that Mr. Marsh was ill and not working, they called his him, and were informed that he left as usual at about 7:30 this morning in apparently good health.
As a result of this information, an employee was went to the compressor room, where the lifeless body of Mr. Marsh was found on the floor. There were no makes on the body and it is believed that death was due to natural causes.
Deputy Coroner Dr. Theodore Reichbaum of East experts to go to Pen Argyle later in the day to investigate.
Mr. Marsh is survived by his wife; four children, Clarence Marsh, Pen Argyl, Charles Mash, Allentown, Mrs. Edwin Young, Bangor and Hattie Clapp, Allentown, and by five grandchildren. He was a member of the Reformed Church at Pen Argyl. |
