Joyce K. Savacool, 68, of Walnutport, passed away Sunday,
December 19, in her home. Born March 7, 1936, in Phillipsburg,
N.J., she lived in Walnutport the past two years. Before that,
she lived in Hope, N.J., for 40 years. She had been a clerk
in Ames and Jamesway stores in Hackettstown, N.J. She was a
daughter of the late Charles S. and Rhoda (Stamets) Merrick.
She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Hope,
and a former member of the church choir. She graduated from
Phillipsburg High School, class of 1954. Her husband, Randall
W. Savacool, passed away in 2002.
Survivors: Sisters, June M. Everett of Palmer Township; nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William R. Savacool,
in 1976, brothers, Bruce, John and Charles, and a sister, Dorothy
Merrick.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial
Parkway, Phillipsburg. Calling hour, noon until services Thursday
in the funeral home. Burial, Hope (N.J.) Moravian Cemetery
