R. W. Osterstock, Machinst, Was War I Veteran
Raymond W. Osterstock, 68, of 917 S. Broad St., Nazareth, died
unexpectedly at his home at 3 p.m. yesterday. He had been in
fialing health since last September when he suffered a hip
injury in a fall.
Mr. Osterstock was born in Forks Township, a son of the late
Asher and Emma Woodring Ostersotck. He was a drop forge man
and machinist. He was employed by the Nazareth Steel Fabricators
for seven eyars until his retiement in 1955. Before that he
worked for many years for the Mdesco Tackel Block Co. Palmer
Township.
During World War I he was a second class fireman in the Navy.
Mr. Osterstock was a charter and active member of the Harold
V. Knecht Post 415, American Legion, Nazareth. He was also
a member of St. John'sUnited Church of Christ Nazareth; Easton
Lodge 111, FOE; Nazareth, Order 1099, Odd Fellows; Vigilant
Hose Co. 17 Naqzareth; Four-County Fireman's Association and
the Fireman's Relief Association, Stroudszburg. He was president
of the Vigilant Hose Co. for Several years.
Surviving are his widow, the former Clara S. Woodring,and
a sister, Mrs. Sarah Rinker, Nazareth. A Brother, Lloyd is
dead.
Teh funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the F. W. Schidt
Mortuary, Nazareth. |
