Granville Paulus Found Hanging from Tree
The Body of Granville Paulus, 57, of 547 New Street, Bethlehem,
was found about 6:15 a.m. today hanging from a tree limb in Johnson
Park, Bethlehem. Coroner Martin J. Bechtel, who said the death was a suicide,
reported that Mr. Paulus had been dead for several hours before
he was discovered. Bethlehem police also investigated.
Born in Hecktown, July 15, 1895, Mr. Paulus was a son of the
late Jacob and Ellenora Fox Paulus. Surviving are his wife,
Florence Dech Paulus; two sons, Jacob of Bath and Walter, of
Chester, a daughter, Mrs. Harry Gerstenberg, of Hellertown,
and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the
Steyers Funeral home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem. The Rev.
Robert L. Herman, of Bethlehem, will officiate. Interment will
be in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown.
