Verna M. Pfenning, 88, of Palmer Township, passed away Wednesday,
April 12, 2006 in HCR ManorCare, Palmer Township.
Born: On
November 7, 1917 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter
of the late Anderson and Catherine Piatt Raub. Personal:
Her husband, Jacob, died in 1972. Verna last worked for
the former Dixie Cup Co. She was a 1936 graduate of Wilson
High School. Memberships: Verna was a member of Palmer Moravian
Community Church, where she was on the prayer chain and
the kitchen crew. She was also a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
Survivors: She is survived by a son, ***** and his wife Bonda;
a daughter, *****, all of Palmer Township; and a grandson,
Ryan. Four brothers, Carl, Philip, Stewart, and John Raub,
and three sisters, Hazel Hulsizer, Florence Bird, and Helen
Salada, all died earlier.
Services: Will be Saturday at 11:30
a.m. in the church, John St. and Moravian Ave., Palmer
Township. Call on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the
church. Burial will be in South Easton Cemetery. The Strunk
Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to the church, Easton, PA 18045.
