Dr. A. Burton Shimer Dies At Resort city
Dr. A. Burton Shimer, a native of Martin’s Creek, and the last 45 years a practicing physician at Atlantic City, died last night at his home in that resort city, from a heart ailment.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Shimer and was raised on their farm at Martin’s Creek.
He was graduated from University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1897, and served his internship at Atlantic City Hospital, having been one of the first interns at that hospital.
He is survived by three brothers and two sisters, none of them residing in this section. |
