John Forest Steckel
John Forest Steckel, 62 years old, died at 5 o'clock last night
at his home 220 Reynolds Street of kidney trouble following
a six weeks' illness. Mr. Steckel was a native of Williams
Township and resided here for the past 25 years. For the past
10 years he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Utilities
Company as a watchman.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs. John Brunner,
Mrs. LeRoy Hartzell, Mrs. Edward Gorman, all of Easton; Charles
Steckel of Phillipsburg, and Viola, Theophilus and LeRoy Steckel
all at home; four sisters: Mrs. Anna Carty, Mrs. Rebecca Zellers
and Mrs. Lizzie Hoover all of Easton and Mrs. Alice Yost of
Raubsville; his step mother, Mrs. Theophilus Steckel of Easton
and two step-sisters: Miss Rosie Steckel and Mrs. Charles
Browers, both of Easton. Mr. Steckel was a member of the Raubsville
M.E. Church.
John F. Steckel of Uhlersville (next to Raubsville, Williams
Township.) married on December 25, 1884 in South Easton, Sarah
C Seifert of Williams Township. Married by Rev. J.Q. Upp. Ref.
