Robert F. Steckel, 87, of Allentown died Thursday, Dec. 10, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Cathryn C. "Kitty" (Hohe) Steckel.

He was a quality control inspector at the former Lehigh Valley Electronics, Allentown, until retiring in 1973.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Frantz and Lillie Mantanna (Knerr) Siegel.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Son, Dean C. of Macungie; daughter, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Private. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown.
