Mrs. Cornelia Stocker Barr
Mrs. Cornelia Stocker Barr, 87, widow of John R. Barr, a native of Easton, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert W. Livingston, of Waynesville, NC with whom she resided for the last 12 years. Mrs. Barr was born in Easton and spent all her life here until 1921 when Mr. Barr died. Mrs. Barr formerly resided on the South Side and was a member of the Reformed Church, there. Since residing in North Carolina, she was a member of the First Methodist Church and the American Legion.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Livingston, at whose home she died; a son Elvin L. Barr, a prisoner of the Japanese; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sampson and Mrs. Ida Altemus both of Easton; three grandsons, Lieut., Hobart Hyatt, of Fort Bill, Okla., and Wayne Hyatt of Pickwick Dam, Tenn, and Elvin Barr Jr., of Manila, P.I., and a granddaughter, Miss Phyllis Barr of Enid, Okla.

Funeral services were held Sunday in Waynesville, and Legionnaires served as pallbearers there.

Brief services will be conducted at the grave in Hay's cemetery, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. Frederick Shafer.
