Robert Strunk, clerk in Greenwich 45 years.
Robert K. Strunk, 80, formerly of East Washington Street,
Stewartsville, died Tuesday in Eastwood convalescent Center,
Wilson, where he had been a guest since 1983.
He worked in the office of the drill department at the Ingersoll-Rand
Co., Phillipsburg, for many years until retiring in 1971.
Born Jan. 4, 1906, in Stewartsville, he was a son of the
late Charles and Matilda Stone Strunk. He lived in Stewartsville
all his life.
Mr. Strunk, a 1992 graduate of Phillipsburg High School,
served as Greenwich township clerk for 45 years.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Stewartsville,
where he was a former Treasurer and council member; Bethlehem
Lodge 140, F&AM, Phillipsburg; Tall Cedars of Lebanon,
Warren County Forest 13; Crescent Temple Shrine, Trenton;
Scottish Rite, Walley of Trenton; West Jersey Shrine Club,
and Lehigh Consistory, Allentown. He served on the board
of directors of Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery.
Surviving are cousins.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Rupell Funeral
Home, Phillipsburg. Interment will the Stewartsville Cemetery. |
