Francis J. Walter, Heart Attack Victim
Francis James Walter, 69, of Easton R.D. 2, died of a heart attack
yesterday in a field on his Palmer Township farm.
Mr. Walter had gone to the field to pick corn for his poultry flock.
He left his home about 2 p.m. When he failed to return by 4;30 p.m.
members of his family went to look for him.
Resuscitation efforts by the Suburban Rescue Squad failed, Mr. Walter
was pronounced dead by Dr. Carl O. Keck, of Palmer Township. A certificate
of death from natural cause was issued by Northampton County deputy
by Northampton County deputy Coroner Ralston J. Bartholomew.
Mr. Walter was born Sept 28, 1890, in Nazareth, a son of the late
James and Ellen Cathrine Saylor Walter.
He had been employed for the last 23 1/2 years in the wax crayon department
of Binney & Smith, Inc.
Mr. Walter was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his widow, the former Anna Florence Shuman; two
daughters, two sons, Leo A., Easton R.D.2 and Nelson S., Palmer
township; two brothers, David, of Belfast and Horace of Nazareth and
four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m Friday at the Bender Funeral Home,
Easton.
