Mrs. I. S. McCracken, Found dead At Home
Mrs. Sadie W. McCracken, 74, widow of Isaac S. McCracken, was
found dead yesterday afternoon in a chair at her home, 1 Tyndall
Ave., Phillipsburg.
The family physician said that he had been treating Mrs. McCracken
for a heart condition. Dr. N. C. Marlett, of Belvidere, Warren
County physician was notified.
Phillipsburg police found Mrs. McCracken after they were notified
by Stewart Weidman, caretaker at the home, that he had been
unable to arouse the woman by knocking at the door.
Mrs. McCracken was born in Easton, a daughter of the late
Valentine and Margaret Haveling Weaver. She lived in Phillipsburg
nearly all her life. Her husband; former Pennylvania Railroad
car shops' forman in Phillipsburg, died in 1940.
She was a member of Delaware Chapter 50, Order of Eastern
Starr, of Phillipsburg; Siloam Shrine 13, White Shrine of Jerusalem,
Easton, and Peggy Warne Chapter, Daughters of the American
Revolution. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, Haveling W. McCracken, of New York City,
and a sister, Miss Helen Weaver, of Phillipsburg. |
