Jacob Seip
Jacob Siep, an esteemed citizen of Palmer Township, died at 2:30 this morn ing of Paralysis, at his homne at Seipsvlle, in the Seventy-ninth ye ar of his age.

Deceased was oborn in Palmer Township, on February 23, 1923, and was the s on of the Peter and Elizabeth (Schnabel) Seip also natives of this count y. His paternal grandather, also born here, was the son of a German, w ho crossing the ATlantic founded the family in America. The latter beca me a prominent citizen of htis county and the village of Seipsville was na med in his honor. In 1780 the Siepbsville hotel was built by him and is n ow in the hands of the fifth generation.

Jacob Seip attended the schools of Palmer Township for some time and lat er became a tudent in the Easton city schools. He made agriculture his li fe occupation though at various times he was interested in other lines. F or six years he conducted the Seips hotel.

Deceased was twice married, first to Mrs. Annie M. Edelman, from which uni on of four children survive: Peter H. of Palmer, Emma E., wife of Pet er J. Hess of Bethlehem Township, John J. of Palmer and Sarah M. wife of O scar E. Bowers, of Easton.

The second wife was Miss Ella E. Frankenfield, she with two children by t he union survive: Mrs. Joseph T. Keller and Lula B., of Palmer Townsh p. A sister, Miss Lulu Seip, of Bethlehem, also survives him.

During his life he held several township offices, among them that of scho ol director. He also held offices in Arndt's Lutheran chuch. Later he be came a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, this city.
