Drach
Hannah Frankenfield was born at Williamstown, Pa., March 9, 1844, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. F. Kutz, aged 65 years, 2 months and 4 days. On the 23 of December, 1865, she and Samuel Drach were marri ed and to them six children were born. They are: Mrs. C.F. Kutz, Oscar Dr ach, Mrs. Johnston, whose home is near Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Stabenow, Elmer and Charles, the two youngest being the only children born in Iowa. In 1881 the family came to Iowa moving on a farm north of Mt. Vernon where they lived for eight years. Then the family came to a farm north of Mechani csville where they lived until Mr. Drach's death, which occurred in January, 1898.

When a girl Mrs. Drach became a member of the Evangelical church and remai ned firm in the faith during her entire life. However, for a considerable period of her life it was not possible for her to attend the church of her faith and she therefore attended the Methodist Church. Mrs. Dra ch was a good neighbor and certainly a most devoted wife and mother. H er final days on earth were days of pain and suffering, which she seem ed to accept as a manifestation of Divine will and therefore not to be que stioned. She suffered in silence. Her death was peaceful, and while a source of grief to her loved ones, it surely was a joyous release from suffering.

The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, Rev. Ewert conducting the services. Pioneer Press Mechanicsville.
