Dr. Cyrus Knecht
Dr. Cyrus Knecht, 83, a former resident of Easton, died suddenly on Tuesd ay at the home of his son,Dr. William Knecht, 25 Durland Road, Maplewoo d, N.J. following a heart attack.

Dr. Knecht was born in Easton on September 6, 1851 and was a son of the la te Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Knecht. He was graduated from Lafayette Colle ge in 1873 and following his graduation taught school for four years. He t hen entered Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia and was graduated in 1 880. He engaged in practice at Matawan, N.J, and was active in his profes sion until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Ameri can Medical Association, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Monmouth Coun ty Medical Society and the Practitioner?s Society of Easter Monmouth. He c ontributed to the medical magazines and was the author of ?An Advance in C linical Diagnosis?.

His wife Mrs. E. Amanda Knecht, died several years ago. He is surviv ed by two sons, Dr. Walter Knecht and Russell Knecht, of Maplewood and o ne sister, Mrs. Louise Brewer, of Philadelphia. The fuernal will be held F riday at 2 p.m. at the Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport, N.J. Interment wi ll be made in the Green Grove cemetery, Keyport.
