Orson H. Beam, 35, Found Dead In Car
Orson H. Beam, 35, Allentown R.D. 4, was found dead in his parked car
on New Road at Brodheads, Bethlehem Township, yesterday.
Northampton County Coroner George T. Kametz said Beam died of a gunshot
wound of the chest Kametz certified the death as a suicide.
Beam was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Jhn Walsh, of the staff
of St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
State Police at Bethlehem investigated. Police said that Beam had
been hunting in the area earlier in the day.
The body was discover by Michael Horvath and Clyde Bonser, both of
Miller Heights, who also were hunting in the area.
Mr. Beam was born in Bethlehem, a son of Seldon and Anna Moser Beam.
He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Dryland Union Church,
Hecktown.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his widow, the former Eva
Lieberman; a daughter, Patricia, at home; a brother, Seldon, Bethlehem,
and five sisters, Mrs. Marion Steckel, Allentown; Mrs. William Kunsman,
Bethlehem R.D. 1; Mrs. Ralph Woodring and Mrs. Michael Prestipino,
both of Easton, and Mrs. Harvey Walters, Bethlehem.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Schisler Funeral
Home, Northampton.
