Charles A. Buttner Sr., 78, of 20 Caffney Hill Road, Williams Township, died Sunday in his home. He was the husband of Helen M. (Shuman) Brown Buttner and the late Ruth A. (Dunlap) Buttner. He and his second wife were married 33 years last November.
Buttner worked at the former A&P, Phillipsburg, before retiring. Before that he worked at the former Chipman Knitting Mills, West Easton, for 28 years.
Born in Williams Township, he was a son of the late Frank T. and Tillie B. (Keifer) Buttner.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Williams Township, and served on its cemetery board and as a former council member.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors: Wife; sons, ***** of Palmer Township and ***** of Wilson; sister, Beulah Kandl of Williams Township; stepson, Robert J. Brown of Palmer Township, and five grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Strunk Funeral Home, Berwick Street at Reynolds, Easton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday. |
