YORK HARBOR, Maine - Jean E. Totten, 71, of 2 Victoria Court, died
Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at York Harbor Health Care at Sentry Hill after
a long illness.
Born in Plainfield, N.J., on March 11, 1933, she was the daughter
of Edgar and Maude E. (Brotsman) Brokaw and was a graduate of North
Plainfield High School.
She had worked as a loan processor in the Mortgage Department of
North Plainfield Savings Bank for many years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen, N.J.
She enjoyed bowling in local North Plainfield area leagues, was a member
of the North Plainfield Ski Club and was a Girl Scout leader. She also
enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and knitting.
She had resided at the Homestead and Sentry Hill Nursing Home for
the past 14 years and enjoyed reading and playing bingo.
She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth N. Totten, who died in 1963.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet A. Stitt and her husband,
Michael J., of York, Maine, and Linda J. Hurley and her husband, James,
of Green Brook, N.J.; a sister, Phyllis Brokaw of Willow Street, Pa.;
and four grandchildren, Kenneth Stitt and Grace, Allison and Meredith
Hurley.
