May C. Messinger, 83, of 452 Main St., Tatamy, died Thursday in Easton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clyde U. Messinger.

Born in Belfast, she was a daughter of the late Carmi A. and Mamie (Walter) Johnson.

She was member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tatamy, where she was the first woman elder of the church. She was also financial secretary and Sunday school teacher for many years.

Survivors: Daughters, Nita, wife of Donald Lowry of Yardley, Bucks County and Alice, wife of Norman Fulmer of Tatamy; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church. Call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday in the church. Arrangements, Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton streets, Easton.
