Mrs. J. Christy Conner
Mrs. Elizabeth K. Conner, 59, of 2614 Madison St., Wilmington, Del, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital there after a long illness.
She was born in Raubsville, a daughter of the late Edward and Cora Scott Kiefer, was graduated from Bethlehem High school in 1939 and was graduated as a registered nurse from Memorial Hospital in Wilmington in1933. She also did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
Her husband, J. Christy Conner Sr., died in 1964.
Mrs. Conner was a member of grace Methodist church, Wilmington, a past matron of Delaware Chapter 1, order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Kewives, composed of wives of Kiwanis members; a member of the Daughters of the American revolution, the Delaware Nurses Association and the Elk River Yacht Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenton L. Culberstson, Wilmington; a step-son, J. Christy Conner Jr., Wilmington; a sister, Mrs. Jane K. Leary, Easton; a brother, John H. Kiefer, East Stroudsburg and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon tomorrow in Grace Methodist church with burial in the Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery. The Chandler Funeral Home, Wilmington, is in charge of arrangements. |
