Helen E. Acton, 85, formerly of Lower Mt. Bethel Township, Pa, died Sunday, September 7, 2007 in Ellicott City, Md.

Born: In Lower Mt. Bethel, she was a daughter of the late Arling J. Sr. and Grace M. Good Kiefer.

Personal: Her husband, Donald A., died in 1993. Helen was employed as a registered nurse for most of her lifetime; working at Clover Rest Nursing Home, Columbia, NJ, Prudential Life Insurance Co., Overbrook Hospital, and Orange Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Easton High School and the Easton Hospital School of Nursing. A devoted grandmother, she loved playing with her grandchildren as well as gardening and being the true "farmer's daughter." An inquisitive person, she enjoyed handicrafts, crossword puzzles, and crocheting. Helen enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends.

Memberships: She was active in the alumni of the Easton School of Nursing.

Survivors: Helen is survived by a daughter, Mary Dauber and her husband Russell of Ellicott City, Md; sons, Bruce and his wife Robin of New York City, R. Scott and his wife Brigitta of Hackettstown, NJ and Keith D. and his wife Nancy of Nazareth; a brother, Arling J. "Pete" Kiefer of Bangor, and grandchildren, Sarah, Julie, Keegan, Michael, Benjamin and Steven. A brother, George, died earlier.

Services: Will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, Route 611 & Alpha Avenue, Martins Creek, Pa. Friends and family may call on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences and floral tributes may be offered at www.palmerifuneralhome.com.
