Mrs. Clayton V. Shimer
Mrs. Grace K. Shimer, 79, of 157, Ann St., died at 5:45 p.m.
yesterday in Easton Hospital. She was hospitalized on Monday.
Mrs. Shimer was the wife of Clayton V. Shimer. Born in Mount
Pleasant on Sept. 25, 1879, she was a daughter of the late
David and Matilda Buzzard Kline. Mr. and Mrs. Shimer observed
their 59th wedding anniversary last May.
Mrs. Shimer was a ember of St. Paul’s Third Lutheran
Church, Easton, the Women’s Auxiliary of the church,
and the Golden Age Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are three daughters,
Hilma, wife of Charles O. Butler, Edgewater Park, N.J.; Hazel,
wife of Stanley E. A. Lum, Easton, and Evelyn, wife of Lester
B. Bartron, Philipsburg; a son, Carl W., Saugus, Mass.; 10
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A son, Richard
J. Shimer, died in infancy.
The funeral will beheld at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Strunk
Funeral Home, Easton
