Joan M. Smith
Joan M. McAbee Smith, 72, of Wallingford, Connecticut, died
Friday, March 3, 2006, in MidState Medical Center, Meriden,
Conn.
Born: July 6, 1933 in Boston, she was a daughter of the late
John S. and Margaret Garis McAbee.
Personal: She had been a resident of Pittsburgh and Easton,Pennsylvania
before moving to Wallingford in 1963.
She attended Chatham Hall in Danville, Va. and Smith College
in Northampton, Mass.
She had been secretary to the head of research at Olin Industries-Winchester
Repeating Arms Division.
Memberships: She was a member of the First Congregational
Church of Wallingford.
Survivors: her loving husband, Delbert B. Smith M.D.; three
daughters, her son,
five grandchildren, a brother, several nieces and nephews.
Services: The date and time of a memorial service to be held
in the church, 23 South Main St., Wallingford, Conn., will
be announced by The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St. in
the Yalesville section of Wallingford, Conn. There will be
no calling hours. |
