Polio Is Fatal To Phillipsburg R.D. 1 Boy, 3
Mitchell Rush, 3, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rush, of Phillipsburg
R.D. 1, died of poliomyelitis, Saturday afternoon in Easton
Hospital.
He was the fourth person to die of the disease in Easton Hospital
this year. A total of 57 cases have been diagnosed.
Mitchell was admitted to the hospital on Oct. 23.
He was born May 7, 1951.
His mother is the former Wilma Gardner.
The child was a member of the St. James Lutheran Sunday School
Straw church circle.
Surviving in additon to his parents, are the paternal grandfather,
Edward Rush, of Huntington; the maternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. William Gardner, of Springtown, and two great-grandmothers,
Mrs. Laura Gardner, of Springtown and Mrs. Stella Rush, of
Huntington.
