Willard Steckel, Was secretary Of Sand, Gravel Co.
Willard A. Steckel;. 50, of 328 Bushkill St., Easton, son of one of the founders of the Steckel Sand Co., died last night in Allentown. He had been ill for some time.

A native of Easton, he was a son of Charles C. Steckel and the late Irene M. Day Steckel. He was graduated from Easton High School, class of 1926. Mr. Steckel was secretary of the old Steckel Sand Co., Phillipsburg. His office was in Easton. The company was founded by his father and uncle, the late Walter Steckel, in 1904. They operated the firm until 1948. Walter Steckel died in 1953.

Mr. Steckel was of the Evangelical and Reformed faith.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Lucy Cassamassa Steckel, Easton; a brother, Claude D., Phillipsburg, and four sisters, Miss Helen G. Steckel, Philadelphia; Miss Mildred Steckel, New York City; and Mrs. Richard Conrad and Miss Marion Steckel both of Easton.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Strunk Funeral Home, Easton.
