Painful Accident - This morning Wm. Stocker, aged about fourteen
years, son of Sydney Stocker, who resides on Washington Street,
west of Fifteenth, while taking a drink of water from a pipe
which empties into an ore washer on the premises of Thomas Richards,
in Palmer Township, slipped and fell into the washer; the iron
teeth drawing his legs in between them up to his hips when the
motion of the machinery was impeded by a piece of the pipe from
which young Stocker had been drinking and which fell into the
washer with him. He was found in that position, and was extricated
and taken to his home and soon after expired.
