Chester Vollmer, Active in Masonic, Legion Groups
Chester W. Vollmer, 81, of 7111 Princeton Place, Tampa, Fla.,
a native of Easton, died Friday in the University Community
hospital, Florida, after being ill for a year. He was a patient
in the hospital since Feb. 1.
An accountant he worked for George Leigh Fuel Co., Easton,
before retiring to Florida 18 years ago. Upon his retirement
he was an accountant for reeves Steel Playground Co. for 17
years and the Murray Boat Trailers Co for 10 years, retiring
in October 1977.
He was a son of the late Fred and Emma Kemmerer Vollmer.
He was a former member of the First United church of Christ,
Easton, and was a member of the Grace Covenant Presbyterian
Church, Tampa., Fla., where he was superintendent of its Sunday
school. He was past commander of the Donovan American Legion
Post, Phillipsburg; a member of the Brandon World War I American
Legion Post, Florida; a 50 year member of the New Jersey Masonic
Body, and was past master of the Delaware Lodge No. 52, F. & A.
M. Phillipsburg.
He and his wife, the former Lorrine Vernet would have celebrated
their 60th wedding anniversary in July.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Jean V.
Meixell, Wildwood, Fla.; a son, John H. at Home, five grandchildren
and a great-grandchild. |
