Emmett A. Walters, 79, of 2027 Ferry St., Wilson, died Sunday in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. He was the husband of Bernita (Smith) Walters. They were married 50 years in April.

Walters worked for Ingersoll-Rand Co., Phillipsburg, for 46 years before retiring in 1974.

Born in Wilson, he was a son of the late Elmer and Jennie (Apgar) Walters.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Forks Township, and had served on its council.

He was a past president of the former Wilson Boro Civic Association.

Survivors: Wife, son, daughters, sister, Isabelle T. Young of Easton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Strunk Funeral Home, 2101 Northampton St., Wilson. Call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
