Mrs. Silas J. Hess
Mrs. Anna Mae Hess, 78, widow of Silas J. Hess, died this morning at 1:30 o’clock at her home, 209 W. Wilkes-Barre St., after an illness of three weeks. Her husband died 44 years ago.

Mrs. Hess was the daughter of the late John and Anna Lynn Woodring and was a lifelong resident of Easton.

She was a member of Arndts Evangelical Reformed Church, the Bible class and the Willing Workers Society of the church. She also was a member of Lafayette Temple 219, ladies of the Golden Eagle; Grant Herd 19, independent Order of lady Reindeer, and the Golden Age Club, all of Easton.

Surviving are a daughter, Miss Marion Hess, at home and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Gruver, and Palmer Township, and Mrs. Edith Clauss, of Forks Township.
