Charles F. Hartzell
Charles F. Hartzell, 49 East Union Street, Bethlehem, son of the late Charles F. and Sabina Hartzell, died at 12:35 p.m. on Friday. He was 80 years of age and was born at Newburg. He attended the Schwartz’s Academy, Bethlehem, and graduated from Eastman’s Business Institute, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Up to his 75th birthday he was employed as bookkeeper and in clerical work.

Mr. Hartzell was a lifelong member of Christ Reformed Church and Sunday School.

He is survived by a sister, Amanda E. Hartzell, residing at home; two sons, John F. of Berlinsville, Lehigh Township and Paul A., at home; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hartzell was also a member of the following organizations; Hobah Lodge, No. 74, Ladies of the Golden Eagle; Damascus commandery, No. 50, A. and I. O. Knights of Malta; Washington Camp, No. 39, Pennsylvania P.O. S. of A.; Bethlehem council, No. 508, Fraternal Patriotic Americans; Daughters of America, No. 38; Royal Arcanum, Lehigh Council, No. 356; Knight of the Golden Eagle, Packer Castle, No. 116; Imperial Order of Red Men, Ontario Tribe, No. 280, and Ad Astra temple, No. 9, Pythian Sisters.
