John W. Topfer, 57, Moore Twp. Principal
John W. Topfer, 57, of Point Phillips, Bath R. D. 1, building principal of the Moore Township Elementary School, died last night in ST. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He as ill about a week.

Mr. Topfer was a teacher in Moore Township 34 years. Before that he taught in New York state four years.

Born May 28, 1906, in Point Phillips, he was a son of the late John and Lena Williamson Topfer. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State College.

Survivors include his widow, the former Mary Ann Morris; a son, John, and a daughter, Charlotte Lee, both at home, and a sister, Mrs. Herbert Bensing, Bath R. D. 1.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, Bath.

The funeral of John W. Topfer, 57, Bath R. D. 1; was held yesterday at the Bartholomew Funeral Home. Bath. Mr. Topfer died Thursday in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Rev. Merrill M. Moore of Bethlehem officiated. Interment was in Salem Cemetery, Point Phillips. The pallbearers were Dr. Jack Cole, John Bensing, Anthony Hodich, Earl and Ernest Hayne and Charles Morris.
