Mrs. Laura Ryan, 80, a former resident of Nazareth, died on Saturday afternoon in Allentown Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of John Ryan, who died in 1935.

Prior to her illness, she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. James J. Barnett, of 603 Pardee street, Easton. She resided there for 10 years.

Born in Northampton, Aug. 16, 1869, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine Fogel Fritchman.

Mrs. Ryan was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans auxiliary, the Ladies of the Golden Eagle, of Nazareth, and the Rebekah Lodge, I.O.O.F., of Bethlehem. She formerly was a member of Nazareth Moravian Church.

Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Barnett, are a grandchild, and a great-grandchild. A son, Russell Ryan, died in 1925.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Bartholomew funeral home, Nazareth. The Rev. Paul S. Meinert, of Bethlehem, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Bath.
