Charles D. Knecht, Sr.
Charles D. Knecht, Sr., 74, of 104 ? Rose Street, Phillipsburg, died short ly after noon today at the home of his son, Charles D. Knecht Jr., Bushki ll Park, Easton, R.D.2, Mrs. Knecht resided in Philipsburg for many yea rs where he followed his trade of painter and paper hanger. He was a well -known bandsman, having played in numerous bands in Easton and Phillipsbur g, as a drummer. He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Forks C hurch. Mr. Knecht had been ill for the last seven months and only a we ek ago he was removed to his son?s home.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Young Knec ht, and a daughter, Mrs. Harold Stewart, of Allentown.

Funeral of Charles Knecht Sr.
The funeral of Charles Knecht Sr., who died at his home, Bushkill Park, Ea ston, R. D. 2, on Friday was held this afternoon at 2 o?clock from the Shi illinger funeral home, 801 Lehigh Street, The Rev. Luther A. Gruver, past or of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, officiated and interment was in Fairmou nt Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Pallbearers were: Joshua and Reuben Young, Walter Jones, Allen Stewart, Wi lmer Durns and Michael Storms. |
