DEATH CLAIMS HARRY I. RAUP
Passed Away at Joseph Ratti Hospital Yesterday Morning.
Harry Raup, a prominent resident of Liberty township, died at the Joseph Ratti hospital, Bloomsburg, about 9 o'clock yesterday morning where he underwent an operation.
Mr. Raup, who seemed to be suffer ing from a complication of diseases, was taken to the hospital about 3 weeks ago. An operation waB per formed, which although successful in itself did not suffioe to bring about a cure. He lingered in a very low con dition until death ensued.
Mr. Raup was formerly an attendant at the curbstone market. He was a highly respected man and a successful agriculturist, owning a fine farm on the Limestone road abont a mile and a half from Mooresburg. He was an enterprising public spirited citizen and always took a been interest in the affairs of the community.
The deceased was aged 59 years, and is survived by his widow, one son and three daughters.
A singular circumstance lies in the faot that a sister of deceased, Mis. Luther Gromley, of Pottsgrove, is also at the Joseph Ratti Hospital, like the deceased, having undergone an operation. At latest aooounts her oondition was favorable.
The funeral will take place from the late residence Monday at 10 a. m. Interment will be made in Odd Fellows' cemetery. |
