William H. Rothenberger
William H. Rothenberger, an aged and well known resident of this city, pas sed away at 8 o?clock Tuesday morning at his home, 455 Gordon street, fr om general debility, aged 83 years, 9 months and 25 days. He was born ne ar Zionsville, the son of the late Peter and Anna (nee Wagner) Rothenberge r. He left there at an early age, residing in Philadelphia for some tim e, and coming to this city 39 years ago. He was resided here ever since.
Up to a year ago, when his illness forced him to retire, Mr. Rothenberg er was a shoemaker, conducting his business in the shop at 539 Gordon Stre et. He became confined to bed seven weeks ago. He was a devout memb er of Bethel Mennonite church.
He was twice married, his first wife, Caroline, nee Sacks, preceding h im in death by a number of years, his second wife, Hanna (nee Worman) surv ives, as do three sons, Charles, Edward and Robert, and one stepson, Ray W orman, all of this city. The following sisters and brothers survive: Mr s. Sallie Neitz, of this city; Mrs. William Wenner, of Emaus; Mrs. Mary Sc hiffert, of Macungie; Mrs. R. Himmerlrich, of Bethlehem; Mrs. Amanda Stauf fer, of Perkasie, and David, of Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted at the late home; 455 Gordon Stree t, at 2 o?clock Friday afternoon, followed by continued services in Beth el Mennonite church. Interment will be made in West End Cemetery. |
