Aged Man is Drowned After Fall From Bridge
Body of William Titus, 76, Recovered From Monocacy
Missing from his home since four o'clock Saturday afternoon, the body of W illiam Titus, aged 76 years, residing at 633 Conestoga street, Bethlehem w as found in the Monocacy creek, north of the Broad street Bridge, Bethlehe m, at 3:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon., by his son, Edward Titus, of 28 We st Third street, Bethlehem. The police were notified and Officers Evans, S mith, Eckhardt and Borman were sent to the scene. Coroner Fred Bausc h, of Allentown, was notified and permission was given Undertaker Harry Di llinger to remove the remains to the Dillinger Morgue.

Titus, is is said, was employed as a watchman at the Monocacy Crushed Sto ne Company and was taking a short cut across the bridge when the fatal acc ident happened. Police on Saturday night received a telephone message fr om a railroader telling them that a man had fallen off the bridge, but t he several officers who were dispatched to the scene were unable to find a ny trace of the man at the time. The bridge is property of the Lehigh a nd New England railway.
He is survived by his wife, three sisters and four sons.
