John A. Mummey, 85, of Danielsville, Lehigh County, died on Monday, after an illness of seven months.

Mr. Mummey was born in Lehigh Township, a son of Stephen and Levina Musselman Mummey. He lived in Lehigh township practically all his life, and resided in the house in which he died for a period of fifty-five years. Last Friday he celebrated his 85?sup?th?/sup? birthday.

He was a millwright by trade, and spent many of his younger years in various sections of his country and Canada erecting cement mills. Later he served for some years as janitor of Christ (Little Moore) church. Danielsville, and sexton of the cemetery for many years. When he gave up that work he tilled a small truck patch at his home.

There are no survivors, his wife, Catherine Dieter Mummey, having died about four years ago.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from his late home the residence of Mrs. Hattie Shaffer Danielsville. Regular services will be held in Christ (Little Moore) church, and burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Floyd Shupp will be assisted in the services by Rev. H. D. Clauss.
