Mohney died of apoplexy at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Libbie Catherman, who resides seven and a half miles west of this city. His death followed by only a few days that of his brother, Sylvanis Mohney, who was crushed underneath a freight car he was repairing at the King Paper company's siding. It is thought that the excitement and grief caused by the death of the latter had much to do with bringing on the stroke that ended the life of Mathias Mohney. Mr. Mohney was 64 years of age. He leaves his wife, a son, Fred, a grandchild, Pearl, of Vicksburg, his sister, Mrs. Catherman, and seven brothers, Charles, of Kalamazoo, Dr. O.H. Mohney of Goodland, Ind., Peter, John and Elmer, of Three Rivers, William of Jackson, Albert of Battle Creek and Ely of Marcellus. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from VanHalt's chapel, Burdick and Cedar streets. The body will be taken to Marcellus for burial, where the body of the recently deceased brother was buried only a few days ago. | ||
